As a forum, the IWGFF is an organization comprised of various members, both institutional and individual, concerned with policy issues in the financial and forestry sectors in Indonesia. The IWGFF has assumed the role of a group capable of facilitating dialogue with various stakeholders, facilitating various forest finance studies, and facilitating the collection of financial data and information in the forestry sector.

Through the role and function of the IWGFF which is supported by the resources of its members, the IWGFF can be managed as a group that can have a strategic bargaining position to conduct dialogue to influence policy makers to encourage the realization of clean governance in the management of healthy and sustainable forest resources.
